| one with NO engine. To drop in some motor in an empty bay is cheaper than pulling and replacing one. Also, the dope sounds like he didn't realize Timing belts were more important than wheels and a nav set. The top-end of these cars is EXPENSIVE, period. If ONLY the heads were the problem (bent valves w/good pistions) you'd spend $500-$1k +labor just on heads. Unfortunately, 1 or more pistions will need their crown refinished at the *least* if valves asulted them. That stuff doesn't account for ANY other problems the motor might have. While you were effing with the heads, you'd also want to do a 120k ($500+), replace valve cover gaskets, Plenum gaskets, PCV's, EGR if you're keepin it, KNOCK SENSOR, some hoses, plugs, etc just for maintenance. Beyond that, there would be OBVIOUS struggles with upgrade purchases: BIGGER Injectors - You're already there and they're likely to fail. (AND more upgrades need them than not) Bigger turbos? - You'll already have em off anyway, right? MSP manis - of course! See how it's adding up? Before you say: "I'd leave it all alone except the heads", be honest. Do you really want to pay out the nose in labor to have upgrades done when you were ALREADY in there?
